Cast and Staff
Perry Albert (Demodocus/Others) has enjoyed performing for as long as she can remember. A graduate of Ithaca College in vocal performance, Perry has continued her musical endeavors as a performer and voice teacher in the Boston and Brookline area. She is very excited to be working with Ragnarok Productions, and so honored to join them on their 'Scottish Adventure.' You may have recently seen Perry as Prentiss in The Footlight Club's Peter and the Starcatcher, Maria in Moonstruck Theatre's production of West Side Story, or in The Longwood Player's version of Urinetown as the greedy McQueen.
Ema Almon (Nausicaa/Others) is an 18 year old actor soon to be pursuing a college degree in acting, avid in and around her community, and a 5-time award winner with the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild. As always, Ema thanks her friends and family for their unconditional love and support!
Elizabeth A. Bean (Producer/Stage Manager) is elated to be part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which marks her first Fringe, and first trip to Scotland. In the States, Liz is a seasoned producer, and serves on the board of directors as the Volunteers Director at The Footlight Club, America’s Oldest Continuously Operating Community Theater, established in 1877. Liz has not only produced some super awesome productions (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bat Boy: The Musical, August Osage County, Frankenstein, The Three Sisters, RENT!) but she can also be seen onstage. Some of her most recent roles include Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn in The Music Man, Kathy, one of the Pit Orchestra Quartet Gal in Promises, Promises, and is a DASH award winner for Best Specialty Ensemble as one of the Phantoms in The Rocky Horror Show. Liz can’t wait to travel Scotland and find her ancestors’ old stomping grounds, and meet Nessie.
Jenn Butler (Assistant Stage Manager/Publicity) is thrilled to be working on The Odyssey and See Rock City as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A native Bostonian, Jenn has been involved in Community Theater for the past three and a half years in a variety of roles, most of them being behind the scenes as an ASM or Props designer. Jenn had also recently become a part of the publicity and promotional teams for a few different theatres in the Boston area. And when she is not working on a show, Jenn can be found in a dance studio with tap shoes on, or writing her latest column for On Stage Theatre Blog. She would like to thank everyone involved with these shows for giving her the opportunity to be a apart of two of her favorite things: Travel and Theater and for helping her at times during the whole the process be in two places at once.
Christina Closs (Menelaus/Others) Since earning her BFA in Acting from the Hartt School, Christina has performed in a variety of professional roles and with numerous companies including The Peterborough Players (NH), The Lost Colony (NC), and Gamut Classic Theatre (PA), where she was a company member for two years. Christina has also completed several touring seasons with both the National Theatre for Children and National Theatre for Arts and Education. Additionally, she has performed in student and independent films, commercials, and completed extra work on five major motion pictures.

Hannah Cohen (Alcinous/Others) is thrilled to be returning to Edinburgh for the third time, and performing at the Fringe for a second. Hannah holds a BA in Acting from Rider University, and balances her love for performance with a job in Public Relations (which she also enjoys). At Rider, Hannah developed an interest in and deep passion for speech, dialects, and the international phonetic alphabet, which she has continued to tutor and teach. Hannah also discovered a passion for makeup design, specifically SFX makeup. Some of her design credits include Once on This Island, She Kills Monsters, and White Christmas. While she's not working or singing, Hannah can be found practicing her Italian, learning French, or continuing her hunt for the perfect croissant. Jennifer Drummond (Athena/Co-Director) is thrilled to be joining Ragnarok for a performance that will take them from Ancient Greece to Massachusetts back to a place she fell in love with - Scotland! Favorite roles include: Ophelia (Hamlet, Ghostlight Players), Olivia (Twelfth Night, Flyleaf Theater Company) Baptista (Taming of the Shrew, Brown Box Theater Company) and Woman 3 (Songs for a New World, Flyleaf Theater Company). By day, Jen works as an Executive Assistant to the General Manager at a large hotel in Boston; she is beyond grateful for the opportunity to embark on a journey as a Greek Goddess by night with a wonderful group of people. Many thanks to her family for their unconditional support and following her all over the globe, and thanks to Mac for always believing the best in her, even when she didn't think it to be possible.
Colin Gillis (Telemachus) is excited to be portraying his first ancient Greek mythological figure, though he was originally under the impression that he would be playing Carole King’s cat. Originally from Massachusetts, Colin has appeared in various musicals and plays in both small community theaters and significantly smaller community theaters. His favorite roles have been as Sir Bedevere/Mrs. Galahad in Monty Python’s Spamalot and Willard Hewitt in Footloose, though he has a special place in his heart for George Spelvin in The Actor’s Nightmare. In his free time he is a musician, singer, boxer, snowboarder, and trivia enthusiast. In his paid time he develops therapies for rare neurological diseases. He is married to Julie and the proud cat-parent of Callie.
Kara Nelson (Acrobat) feels so lucky to be a part of this wonderful project, which is her debut with Ragnarok Productions. She has also worked at North Shore Music Theatre, The Umbrella, The Longwood Players, Hackmatack Playhouse, and Patrick Dorow Productions, among others. Favorite past roles include Éponine in Les Mis, Hope Cladwell in Urinetown, Natalie in Next to Normal, "Somewhere" Girl in West Side Story, and The Mistress in Evita. Kara would like to thank the amazing RP team for this unique and exciting opportunity, and her parents for never missing a show.
Nathaniel Scott (Odysseus/Co-Director) is thrilled to return to Fringe with these two fantastic shows. Favorite roles past include Macbeth (with three companies), John Proctor in The Crucible, Abraham in The Mysteries, and the Creature in Frankenstein. He is a published poet, licensed massage therapist, husband, and father of two. In non-theater arts he wrote and directed the feature film, Tales from Shakespeare & Postscripts, and narrates audiobooks.
Katie Speed (Penelope/Others) is a theatre educator and teaching artist from Somerville, MA. Favorite past credits include A Future Perfect, Twelfth Night and Spring's Awakening with Flyleaf Theater Company, American Idiot with the Phoenix Playmakers, and West Side Story with Moonstruck Theater Company. Katie can also be heard as the voice of Esther Roberts on ars PARADOXICA, the popular audiodrama podcast featured by SyFy and BBC America. By day, Katie is creating the theatre program at UP Academy Oliver Middle School in Lawrence, MA, and this past spring she directed the first-ever UAO Musical, Once on This Island, Jr. Katie would like to thank the Ragnarok team for this incredible experience, Ashley and Tree for putting up with her constant singing and general theatre dorkiness, and her amazing family for their consistent love and support.
Maryanne Truax (Calypso/Others) received her B.F.A. in Performance from Salem State University in 2013 and has since enjoyed performing throughout the greater Boston area. Favorite past roles include: Olivia in Twelfth Night of the Living Dead (Anthem Theatre Company), Violet Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Wheelock Family Theatre), Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher (Footlight Club), Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Izzy in Rabbit Hole (Marblehead Little Theatre), Suzanne in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Sandy in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Ann Whitefield in Man and Superman (SSU). She is a former cast member of Bye Bye Liver: The Boston Drinking Play and a current cast member of Kidstage at the Boston Children’s Museum. She works full-time committing treason against King George III at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. When not overthrowing monarchs, she can be found as Writer & Director for the Fringe Theatre in Needham, MA. She gleams her love of theatre from her multi-talented family and harbors a deep love of history, 90s music and pugs.
